Privacy policy
Who we are
This website is run by Bryn Arms Limited, trading as The Bryn Arms, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14440427) whose registered office is at Bryn Arms, Gellilydan, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd LL41 4EN. We are the controller of the personal information described here. To ask anything about it, email info@brynarms.co.uk or call 01766 590655.
What we collect
Only what you send us through an enquiry form: your name, email address, and, if you give them, your phone number, a preferred date and your message. We do not ask for anything else, and you do not need an account to use the site.
Why, and on what basis
We use it to reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to arrange your booking or event. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with anyone for their own purposes.
Who handles it for us
These companies process it on our behalf, under contract, and only to provide their service:
- Resend delivers form messages to our inbox.
- Cloudflare runs the security check on our forms (Turnstile), which looks at technical details of your browser and connection to tell people from automated spam, and forwards email sent to our address.
- Tudorvale, our website provider, currently receives enquiries on our behalf and passes them to us.
- Microsoft hosts the mailbox those enquiries arrive in.
- Vercel hosts the website and, like any web host, briefly logs technical information such as your IP address to keep it running and secure.
Information leaving the UK
Some of these providers are based in, or use systems in, the United States. Where your information leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Cookies
The website does not set cookies, and it does not use analytics or advertising trackers. When a page loads, your browser also fetches our fonts from Adobe Fonts and our photographs from Sanity’s image service; those providers see your IP address in order to deliver the files.
Links to other sites
Booking a table takes you to Dojo, our booking provider, and our social, map and directions links take you to Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps and OpenStreetMap. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages for 12 months after our last contact with you, unless they become part of a booking, in which case we keep them as long as we need to for that booking and our accounts.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page.
